Surveillance
Most people do not know that Surveillance is one of the most difficult jobs to conduct. It may be easy to follow a person but not getting caught makes it very hard. Along with traffic lights, speed cameras, red light cameras and traffic the job gets more and more difficult.
In September 2010 our office received instructions in an insurance matter which related to a claimant suffering back problems. While conducting surveillance over a weekend our agent followed the claimant and observed the claimant playing tennis. Over an hour of footage was obtained showing the claimant jumping etc. while playing tennis.
Our operatives conduct surveillance in a passive and non aggressive manner. All operatives are equipped with hidden cameras, numerous disguises and vehicles.

Supervised Access
Supervised access usually comes into play after an eviction or possession of real property. POLO CPI's experienced licenced agents complete this work in a sensitive and cost effective manner. When supervised access has concluded our agent waits until all persons have departed the premises before conducting a sweep of all external entry points (Doors/windows) to ensure all are locked and secured.
We have had cases when persons have unlocked windows in a view to breaking back in. We have also had cases when providing supervised access, persons have been found hiding inside the house after breaking in. Issues like this need to be taken very seriously.

Sal Ropolo, Managing Director of Polo CPI, says that people who are being served with a process have often proven to be very difficult, which is why they are being taken through legal process.
"Since opening our office in the Sydney CBD in 1994, at Polo CPI, we have probably come across every trick people will use to avoid service," Sal said.
"They will go to live with friends, move to another city, hide in the boot and let their wives drive them in and out of the house, move from rented house to rented house, say that they do not live at the address. They often become abusive and sometimes violent. One of our very professional operators was beaten when he tried to serve process. Copping a torrent of abuse is all part of a day's work"
"There are guidelines that limit the hours in which we can work. As a result, our operators have to be very clever when process serving. For a start, the Debt Collection Guidelines instruct to only serve process between 7 am and 9 pm unless the person is avoiding service.
"That makes process service difficult because we have the most success by finding the target at home, early in the morning and at night.
"Process should be served by a person who is not associated with the case to ensure that service cannot later be denied.
"We recently found out that a very difficult, slippery target was appearing in court on another matter. We sat in the public gallery, identified the person, followed them out of court, confronted them and served them with process. We describe what the legal process is for, and placed the documents at their feet. We prefer to serve process from hand to hand, but have the option of placing the documents at their feet or in their presence.
"If process service is in dispute it is our impeccable reputation against their word.
"Whether the matter is for the Local, District, Supreme or Federal Courts, Polo CPI has the knowledge and experience to serve process as promptly, as possible. The last thing our clients want is a delay in legal process.

It became clear very quickly that the way I wanted to run the business and service our customers I was in a powerful niche position. Our committed and dedicated approach soon saw us move to a larger office in Stanmore. However, what had developed in the past 12 months through talking to our clients is that POLO CPI needed to be in the heart of the Sydney CBD. We moved to an office in the Sydney CBD and have been operating successfully for the past 7 years.
